MICHAEL J BURCHETT
MANAGING DIRECTOR

Michael Burchett is a 35-year veteran of the hospitality industry.
He spent 17 years of his career with Regent and Four Seasons Hotels in Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, China, USA and Indonesia. He was the opening General Manager of the Four Seasons Jimbaran & The Regent Jakarta (now Four Seasons).

​​Michael continued his career as Vice President Operations with Royal Garden Resorts in Thailand responsible for hotels in Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Phuket and Vietnam; under the Four Seasons, Marriott and Anantara brands.
In 2003 he returned to Bali to open Conrad Bali, where he has recently left after 9 years to set up his own company, MJB Hoteliers, specializing in Hospitality Management and Consulting Services. Until recently contracted through MJB Hoteliers as Vice President Indonesia for Mantra Group; and currently Regional Director of Operations SEA for Wyndham Hotel Group.

​Michael is an active participant in various professional Associations and the community, as he states consistently: “being privileged to live in Bali and travel through Indonesia has given me the opportunity to give something back to the community that has given me so much”.
He was instrumental in driving the recovery program for Bali during his three terms as Chairman of the Bali Hotels Association (BHA) 2004-2008, and remains an active Member of BHA today; past Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel & Restaurant Association (PHRI); Past President Rotary Nusa Dua 2008/9 ; Bailli de Bali Chaine des Rotisseurs & current Board Member of Chaine des Rotisseurs Indonesia. 

​An Australian, Michael is married with two children. His home is Perth where he commutes regularly to spend time with his family. He is a keen golfer.

TROY SINCLAIR

DIRECTOR
Troy has amassed considerable international experience in the hospitality, banking and IT sectors in Australia, Europe and Indonesia.
Troy graduated from the University of Sunshine Coast in 2002 with a Bachelor of Business Information Systems; further enhanced when he completed a Masters of Business Administration Hotel & Tourism Management in 2010 through the University of Southern Cross.
In 2004, in partnership with his father Alan Sinclair, Troy developed and opened Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Day Spa. Troy’s practical experience stems from the eight years establishing this Boutique Resort as the leading property on Nusa Lembongan, commencing with conceptual design, project management, through opening in 2006, and as General Manager.
As Owner~Operator of Batu Karang Resort, Troy gained a unique insight into the relationship between ownership and management; and a greater understanding of the partnership that must exist between Owner~Developer and Operator~Manager to ensure success.
In addition to Troy’s academic qualifications and practical experience, he continues to develop his Bahasa Indonesia language skills, currently holding a Level 5 (Business) certificate. Troy is also an accomplished surfer and Jui Jitsu proponent.

JANE BURCHETT
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS & TECHNICAL SERVICES

Jane Burchett joined MJB Hoteliers in 2013 bringing with her over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
Jane spent six years in the U.S.A. working as a Chef on several super yachts before returning home to further her experience in the culinary industry. 1993 Jane opened her first outlet, Howard’s, then in 1997 moved on to start Attitude on Food where she built up a significant catering business, expanding over the years to include a wholesale line of food distributed to gourmet supermarkets & café’s in and around Perth in addition to the on site Function Suite and Lounge Bar.
Attitude on Food specialized in catering backstage at many music events including a 12 year run with The Big Day Out, Red Bull Air Race, Gravity Games, V Festival, Soundwave, Céline Dion, Tom Jones, Elton John and many more while assembling a vast private and corporate list of clients.
After over 15 years in operation it was time for a change which entailed relocating to Bali to take up the position of Director of Operations focused primarily on Food & Beverage services with MJB Hoteliers. Jane supports MJB Hoteliers clients through a range of services including design installation and operation of kitchens, restaurants, bars and function areas in addition to menu design and engineering, staff training and operations oversight.

MADE DARMAWAN
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS & DEVELOPMENT

Made provides support to the team in hotel operations and development. Upon earning Associate Degree in Hospitality Management from College of the Canyons in USA, Made Darmawan joined Hilton in Valencia, California where he spent 5 years honing his skills in all aspects of hotel operation and risen through the hierarchy to Front Office Manager. In 2003 he returned to Bali as  a member of the  pre-opening team at Conrad Bali. 

Recognized for his creative and selling skills, Made moved into  Sales & Marketing, where he developed and implemented winning revenue and sales strategies to penetrate highly competitive markets such as  Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and the key Domestic market. He enjoyed a succession of senior sales positions with luxury international chains  including Four Seasons and Banyan Tree.  Made’s experience attracted him back into operations in Executive Management positions with Mantra Group and Alila Hotels & Resorts.  Prior to joining MJB Hoteliers he played a pivotal role in rebranding Chedi to Mantra at Sakala Resort & Beach Club as Resort Manager. 


CECILIA HATMANDAYANI
BUSINESS MANAGER 

Cecilia supports the team in her role as Business Manager, ensuring the business of MJB Hoteliers runs smoothly and responds to Owners & Developers expectations in a professional manner. Cecilia also manages MJB Hoteliers’ proprietary Insider Online Training System developed with GuestBest in Australia and established in MJB Hoteliers managed properties.

Cecilia joined the team after twenty plus years of experience in some Indonesia’s most respected luxury hotels, including Regent & Four Seasons Jakarta and Conrad Bali. The experience of working during the opening stages in setting up the hotel operation and working closely with the General Managers, as well as being an integral member of the Management Team, has given her a broad understanding of hotel management. 

Prior to joining the hospitality industry, Cecilia enjoyed her positions as  Translator and Interpreter in an Embassy in Jakarta, an English Teacher and book Editor. She is a university graduate with a major in English Linguistics.​


KETUT KUSUMA
DIRECTOR OF LEGAL  & GENERAL AFFAIRS

Ketut supports the team in his role as Director of Legal  & General Affairs. He is responsible for compliance with Manpower & Government regulations, securing permits and operational licenses, maintaining relationships & communication with Government offices and relevant authorities. 

Ketut has been working in the hospitality industry for over 15 years in Human Resources & General Affairs. Prior to joining MJB Hoteliers, he worked with Conrad Bali to set up the opening requirements for Human Resources & General Affairs, working closely with Owner and Management Team to ensure compliance with all Government regulations. 

Ketut graduated from Institute of Sience & Technology Palapa Malang in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in IT and obtained a certificate in Human Resources conducted by QQ International in Jakarta. 

His previous work included 10 years in Project Management with Takenaka Corporation Indonesia, a Japanese contractor in Jakarta.​

KADEK IKA WIDYA ANTARA
FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Kadek supports the team in his role as Financial Controller. 

His primary responsibilities include managing the financial records for MJB Hoteliers, preparation of financial reports, taxation, forecasting and budgeting. Kadek’s key role is to ensure that MJB Hoteliers and our clients are aware of and compliant with Indonesian financial and tax regulations.

Prior to joining the MJB Hoteliers team his experience included Chief Accountant at Peppers and Sentosa Villas Seminyak, and Chief Accounting for several hotels in Bali. 

Kadek holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Udayana University, Bali. 


DEWI LINA OKTAVIANINGSIH
EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Dewi provides administrative support to the team. She gained experience in hospitality industry from her previous 14 years working with The Regent and Four Seasons Hotels. The first 9 years Dewi worked with the Regent and Four Seasons Jakarta  as Administrative Assistant in Sales & Marketing and then Catering Manager. She then moved to Bali to join Four Seasons Resort Bali in the role of Administrative Assistant,  and later  moved to  Human Resources Department.  From Four Seasons Bali,  Dewi  joined  Four Seasons Maldives to gain international experience in the role of Administrative Assistant to GM. After over one year in Maldives, she came back to Bali and joined MJB Hoteliers team in April 2013. 

Dewi is a graduate of D3 Program of Faculty of Letters, with a major in English. 
​Her interests include travelling, hiking and running.  


KADEK MULIASTINI (ULIE)
ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR

Ulie supports the Accounting team in her role as Accounting Supervisor.

Her responsibilities include management of the Company’s financial records, including the balance sheet & general ledger, and ensuring the accuracy and transparency of MJBH’s records. Cash balances, bank accounts and compliance with the Uniform System of Accounts and Indonesian regulations are included in Ulie’s responsibilities.

Prior to joining the team, Ulie worked as Account Receivable Supervisor in several hotels in Bali. She is a graduate from Bali State Polytechnic, with a major in Accounting.


AZENA WOLF

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Azena provides administrative support to the team.
She is a fresh graduate of an international highschool in Bali and passionately joined the team to grow and gain more knowledge and experience in hospitality industry.

Her interests include art and design, travelling and tennis.
